Today I’m going to teach you how to make a classic Italian dish, the margherita pizza! I learned this recipe in Milan during a cooking class with the famous chef Aurora Muti and let me tell you that it is extraordinary… This recipe is very easy and it will delight your warm summer evenings with friends, so roll up your sleeves and let’s go!
Ingredients :
- 400 g of flour
- 220 ml of water
- 2 g of fresh yeast (it is very important that the yeast is fresh, don’t use dry yeast or the result won’t be the same)
- 4 g of salt
- Homemade tomato sauce
- One large mozzarella
- A few basil leaves
- Olive oil
Recipe :
1. In a glass, pour in about 40 cl of water and stir in the yeast
2. Then, in a large bowl, pour the flour and add the rest of the water
3. Once a dough starts to form, add the yeast and salt and continue to knead well to obtain a homogeneous dough
4. Put a clean cloth over the bowl and let the dough rest for at least 8 hours
5. Once the dough is ready, degas it and cut it in two balls, then place place each dough ball on a heavily floured surface and use your fingers to stretch it, then your hands to shape it into rounds
6. Add tomato sauce, mozzarella and basil and a good drizzle of olive oil
7. Put the pizza in the oven for 12 minutes at 230 degrees (for best results I cook my pizza in my ARIETE 909 oven for 4 minutes)
8. It’s ready, enjoy!
