In the Luberon area in France, lies the Château La Canorgue. A small distance from the village Bonnieux, this vineyard belongs to 4 generations of the Margan family and lies on a small estate. Since 1970, they have been making strong efforts in organic farming. Currently they have 40 hectares of vines spread around small plots.
Château La Canorgue
The property, owned by the Margan family is a beautiful Provencal villa, filmed on old ruins of an ancient Roman villa. It owes its name of the many underground pipes which were built by the romans to collect water. It has a small chapel and a beaitful fountain. The movie ‘a good year’was filmed here. This movie was filmed in both the property as well as the small town Gordes. Read more about visiting Gordes and the movie here.

The wines of Château La Canorgue
The wines are made on the terroir which is made up of clay-limestone soil that has stony and sandy characteristics. The vines are aged 40 to 100 years. The wine at Canorgue is not only classic red whites and roses. They also develop an atypical wine; Le Coin Perdu. Le Coin Perdu means the Lost Corner. This wine also played a main role in the movie ‘A Good Year’, and is in our opinion The Best Gift to give. The wine from Le Coin Perdue comes from the oldest parcel of vines. Up to 100 years old.
The wines from this estate have a lovely freshness and finesse in all three colours.
